A round of fixes on top of the first beta.

  • ›Accepting a suggestion now works in Teams, Slack and other chat apps. In those, and in browsers, the suggestion shows in a small box next to the field rather than inline at the cursor.
  • ›Esc hides the current suggestion. Press it again to bring the same one back.
  • ›Wysp checks your free memory and loads the largest model that fits, then eases down to a smaller one when the Mac gets busy. You can lock it to a fixed model in Settings.
  • ›Fixed a few cases where an accepted suggestion could land in the wrong field.
  • ›Still on-device: no account, no cloud, nothing you type leaves the Mac. It now sends a small anonymous count on launch (a random ID and the version, nothing you type) so I can see how many people are using it. It's on the privacy page.
  • ›Still a beta, so some rough edges remain (see “Good to know” in Settings). Tell me what breaks and version 1 Premium is on me.

The first public beta.

  • ›Runs natively on Apple Silicon, so suggestions come up quickly as you type.
  • ›Uses what's on your screen for context, so a reply fits the email you're answering or the thing you were just looking at.
  • ›Pick your model in Settings: Gust, Gale or Storm. Bigger models predict longer phrases and use more memory.
  • ›Fixed crashes when switching models or running the benchmark.
  • ›Fully on-device: no account, no cloud, your typing never leaves your Mac.
  • ›Still an early beta. Tell me what you find and version 1 Premium is on me.

  • ›As you type, Wysp suggests your next few words right at your cursor, in Mail, Messages, Notes, Slack, and most Mac apps.
  • ›It works in the browser too (Safari and Chrome). Press Tab to take the next word, the right arrow for the whole phrase, or Esc to dismiss.
  • ›Everything happens on your Mac. There's no account and no cloud, what you type never leaves your computer.
  • ›Wysp keeps out of password fields, banking sites, and phone or verification boxes, so your private details stay private.
  • ›On first launch you choose whether to share anonymous data to help improve Wysp. It stays off unless you say yes.
  • ›This is an early beta, a few rough edges remain (see “Good to know” in settings). Tell me what you find and version 1 Premium is on me.
